Photography course with Simon Warren
We are pleased to welcome Simon to Arte Umbria for 2012. Simon will be running two courses starting on the 30th May and the 27th June 2012.
About Simon...
Next year Simon Warren will be celebrating 30 years as a professional photographer.
His work as a location photographer has taken him all over the world documenting global architecture, interiors and people.
Twelve years ago Simon decided that he wanted to pass on his skills to people embarking in photography for the first time and for those who wish to hone their skills.
The courses...
Simon has a great passion for what he does. He is enthusiastic and driven by wanting to see his students succeed. His lessons are delivered with simple practical and fun exercises that are jargon free and easy to follow.
He covers all aspects of photographic technique, camera settings, lighting for all subjects - landscape, architecture, portraiture.
Each course includes a day trip to Orvieto to photograph the magnificent Renaissance architecture and anything Italian.
Simon has previously tutored at Falmouth College of Art, London College of Communications and Thames Valley University. He has also been teaching One to One and in small groups now for 5 years.
Some testimonials:
I have taken private lessons with Simon and I found Simon to be an excellent teacher, with a very patient, clear, and encouraging teaching style. Our lessons took place on location and were highly experiential and fun! Simon gave me the confidence to experiment with my photography, understanding of the camera itself, with assignments to develop my creativity. i would not hesitate in recommending Simon as a a fantastic teacher and guide. Eli
I signed up to the course hoping to take a couple of handy hints away at the end of the day. Not only did I end up with a notebook full of ideas, advice and instruction, I also finished the day feeling confident with my Nikon and able to understand terminology which was, until then, a mystery to me. Now I can do, photographically, on purpose what I could only do by chance before! Jo
Simon's teaching was pitched just right - combining (plain English) theory with very real, practical exercises which made it all sink in. He encouraged real camaraderie in the group so that we all learnt from each other as well. I find it much easier to learn like that, through discussions and sharing experiences. The iconic London locations were just perfect too! Suzanne
I cannot recommend Simon enough, he is a very patient and informative teacher and makes the lessons both varied and fun. He has years of experience working as a professional photographer and is generous with his time and knowledge." Tina.
